Backstory

The major downside to being (nearly) the only native speaker in a mostly international but English-speaking office was having to suffer a ghastly range of grammatical solecisms and orthoepic car-crashes on a daily basis, the most pernicious, peristent and widespread of which was the erroneous use of the past participle in conjunction with an auxiliary ‘do’. It used to drive me nuts, and seemingly regardless of country of origin or mother tongue, roughly 80% of non-native speakers would do it.

Artist’s Notes

Basic two-character dialogue. There always seems to be one character smiling, and the other in a forlorn state of existential despair.
