Backstory

This relates to the fable about the scorpion who pleads with the turtle to carry him across the river and assuages the turtle’s doubts about the scorpion stinging him by explaining that death to the turtle would also mean to death to the scorpion—weak swimmer that he was—so then why would he sting him. Of course the scorpion stings the turtle halfway across anyway, because that’s what he does. Much like a developer will always jeopardise the stability of the system they use for their day-to-day work by installing, say, a beta release of iOS or Xcode or macOS, which Patryk did on a regular basis.

Artist’s Notes

I’m not terribly convinced about the versimilitude of the scorpion, but the use of the grey marker for the turtle’s underwater parts is a nice touch.
